TAHINI BLISS BALLS

Inspired by Lola Berry's Halva Balls, these delicious little treats have been a yummy snack for all during the renovations of my house. I've felt compelled to whip up a batch of these morsels almost every couple of days, as they seem to be put away in record speed! Depending on how big you want to make the bliss balls, this recipe should make around 20-24 smaller balls. If you do have an ingredient, feel free to substitute for something similar (i.e coconut sugar could be substituted for maple syrup or another type of 'healthier' sweetener).

Ingredients
  • 2 cups dried dates / fresh Medjool dates, roughly chopped, pits removed
  • 1 cup almond meal
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup tahini paste
  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter (only ingredient is peanuts)
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Method

1. Place the dates in a blender or food processor along with 2-3 tablespoons of water and blend/process until smooth.

2. Pour the dates into a large mixing bowl and add the remaining ingredients, stirring well to combine. You may need to add a few splashes of water if the mixture is too dry.

3. With wet hands, shape the balls to the size that you want and place in the fridge for one hour to set. You can also roll some of the balls in extra sesame seeds, if desired.

Makes / 20-24
Total Prep time / around 20 minutes, plus 1 hour to set
